Hi folks,
Been a bit of interest lately so thought I would chime in after a bit of a break. Been busy building other stuff on MLP forum after an irresistible urge to build a '59 LP Burst replica, and a couple of P-90 Tele's.
I am in the middle of selling up in London and set up on the south coast, with proper workshop in the next few months.

Hey John, good to see you back around! Any chance of posting pics of or links to these LP and Tele projects of yours?

Thanks mate, good to hear from you, see what I can do over the next few weeks, winter evenings etc. The LP post is long!

Cheers, John

Just ordered a set of these thimbles from John for my TM JM. Really looking forward to getting them and installing a Mastery w/o drilling/doweling, etc. Will definitely report back but up to this point John has been nothing but helpful!

Thanks mate, heres some links to My Les Paul Forum posts of the recent builds,Distinct lack of Offset content, so not sure if worth posting as a new thread on OSG, let me know.

(Links deleted, as didn't work! :derp: )

Workshops semi packed away and stored away in my spraying shed whilst I sell up in London, this winter hopefully. Looking for somewhere with large garden, garage, and very large shed. (Hopefully Bournemouth Dorset) More soon.

Cheers, John

PS "Gafenderboy" the brass conversion bushes are in the post and on the way. Let us know how the fitting went, remember the tap them all the way down in the body. Thanks & good luck mate, should liven the TM up a bit.

Those are all stunning John. Amazing attention to technique and detail as always, and I always learn stuff from your threads. Drilling to join the chambers in the Teles- I'm going to remember that trick for the (eventual) Telecaster-like object in my own project list.
Nice one. 8)

Taking a long shot here John (considering this post is pretty old), but what are the chances I could commission a set of these beauties from you? I'm desperately trying to get my AOM bridge swapped out for a Mastery I picked up, and would really prefer to avoid doweling the body at any cost. Thanks in advance, and happy 2020 to you!

So I didn’t create new bushings, but I was able to drill out stock AOM bushings to fit Jazzmaster bridge cups. This was done to fit a stock Jazzmaster bridge (not Mastery) but assume it could work the same way for you, though it’s perhaps a bit ghetto at first glance it’s an invisible and reversible retrofit. They do work:

The one on the right has no cup, but is drilled.

Assembled, no problems, perfect tuning/location of the strings and bridge.

Hey Danley - appreciate you sharing. Perhaps not as elegant, but definitely a solid solution. Just so I'm understanding correctly - you drilled the existing AOM threaded thimble cavity to open it up to receive the second thimble for the vintage bridge? Just want to make sure I'm interpreting your images correctly. Thanks!
