Now for some pics of the build.
All the parts laid out:
The body was mis-routed, and I ended up going with a Daphne blue body rather than the sonic blue shown here.
The neck is just gorgeous with its birds eye maple stock and fb.
A closer shot of the neck here:

I couldn't get the "pans" to fit right without pulling out some serious blacksmithing, so I abandoned the pans (I'll save them for another build)
I'm hoping I didn't make a huge faux pas, but I used the Stew-Mac copper shielding. I'm real happy with the results - its very quiet.
Of course, it went on the pick guard too.
I tested the foil for continuity:
With my vintage AX7 tube driven meter

Re: Thought I'd introduce myself with a build
I wired the pickguard:
The bridge inserts had some built up lacquer in them, so this little dremmel tool - worked by hand cleaned them up nicely:
Now I can seat the floating bridge, and install the trem assembly.
I chose to use a "buzz stop" on this project - just a personal preference.

A quick mock-up:
And the final product all strung up:
So there it is!
I really enjoyed this project. I know its not really a "build". Its more like, buy the parts and put it together.
And I absolutely love the Curtis Novak pups - super warm and thick with lots of definition. No muddiness.
Thanks for looking.

If anybody here gives you any sh*t about the buzzstop (and they will...), feel free to tell them to go f*ck themselves per Mongoose.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep that in mind about the buzz stop.
So.... where's a good place to get a more vintage correct body? (I'd like to have one already finished.)

USACG and MJT are used by some folks to get bodies. Danocaster and Andrewdoeshair are good sources for bodies as well depending on what they are working on.
