Additionally: How can I make the difference between a guard for AVRIs or Imports  ?

Is there a part number on the package somewhere (maybe on the back)? At one time all AllParts (if  I remember correctly) guards were for MIJ/CIJ but they well might do vintage-sized ones too.

I don't know if there's a number on the back, I found it on eBay. I asked the seller but I have way more trust in forumites than in sellers on eBay.  :)

I checked the allparts site: they only have one type of guard for jazzmasters but GPR have one for AVRIs and one for Imports, both are allparts.. very strange..  ???

The easiest way to tell (for me anyway) is by looking at the edge of the pickguard by the side of the bridge pickup hole.  If the edge runs parallel to the bridge pickup hole, it's a CIJ.  The AVRI has a slight taper in the distance between the pickup hole and the edge...

Precisely!  Sorry, too lazy to open up Photoshop, make a circle and then upload the photo, but, yes.

Thanks for going that extra mile, Rumors... :)

Thanks a lot BerlinBetty !

Your explanation and RoS drawing is a keeper... maybe it would be a good idea to put this in the FAQs somewhere..
