But it seems it's not even attached with screws, it seems it's ... (can't find the word..) well .. screws you can't screws (with no cross), you push them in instead.

That is utterly horrific.  It's like something I would've thought about doing when I was eleven and had no appreciation for beautiful guitars.  Did it sell?  Please ... tell me it didn't sell.
