Pickup recommendations for a custom build?

Post by fuzzferatu » Sun Dec 30, 2007 1:08 pm

Hello,

I am planning a JM build. I love the sound of the old JMs - ventures, Television, et al. What pickups best suit that approach?

I'm sure I'll have many questions about this project as it evolves.

I've read the Lollars are pretty accurate to the vintage specs.  I'm probably going to go with pickups from here http://www.vintagevibeguitars.com/ on my Jazzmaster build just because I have some of his other pickups (Tele neck, Tele bridge, P90s, CCR) and they've all been great...plus they're a little bit less expensive.
