Any updates to the Bass VI parts list?

Post by dinosaur » Tue Nov 07, 2006 4:50 am

I'm seriously considering putting together a USACG Bass VI over the next few months, as I still have some spare time.  The list that is stickied here is great, but I know it's a year or two old and I'm wondering if anyone has recently found any other source of parts.  For example, I wonder if a Fender dealer can now order a 4 switch plate from the custom shop?

I don't know about the 4 switch plate, but I recently did this project and the list is very good.  I didn't have any problems locating anything except the wide bridge base.  I used a jazz with mustang saddles and bent down the edge opposite the screws because I want to tune down to Eb.

Good luck!

Thanks.  Can I ask what you used for the control plate?

I got a tracing from Alfred, then sent it to a company in CA.  They made one out of brushed aluminum.  It looks ok, not great, but functional.  I am holding out in hopes of Alfred getting some more made along with the wide bridge base.  Until then, should work.  I have a copy of the tracing, also, if you need one.

My bass vi is not ready though.  It's colored and clear coated, so I guess assembly and setup is all I am waiting on at this point.
