I'd love to have an old truck. SO bad. I'm not much of a car guy, but I love classic American cars and trucks.
I've often told my wife if anything ever happend to my truck (new, comfortable, etc.) I'd replace it with a classic one.
Hell yes dude. If I was more of a car guy (skills-wise), I'd get an old 1957 Bel-Air and convert it to a truck. I saw one online a couple years ago, and haven't been able to get it out of my head since. How sweet would this be?

That's definitely interesting. How about a Cadillac Mirage, though? They did make about 200 of them. A frind of mine had the last one to roll off the line. Inside the tailgate, all the assembly workers had signed it.

Those look fantastic!
They really do! I'm dying to get the Bass VI together to see how they sound.

And finally! My 70's Sci-Fi baritone guitar, based on Deed_Poll's Juniorbird design. Here's a refresher to the color and pickup mock-up I'd made:

I've already got the pickups, the switches, and the knobs too (I think). Dan/Deed_Poll cut the body today, so here's where we're at:

(Not my actual pickguard).
Holy smokes that baritone is so rad. Is it finished yet? Also what constitutes a guitar as baritone?
Thanks dude. I don't have it in hand yet. The guy building it is still working on it I believe. Planning on sending it to our Rexter to have it finished, and then I'll start assembling.

I think there are some variables that make a baritone a baritone, but I've always known them to be tuned half-an-octave below a guitar and half-an-octave above a bass, usually tuned B-b. Think about a 7-string guitar without the high e.

Sentell charges pretty reasonable prices too. It was $240 for the set of 3 pickups.
That's a good price. I'll look into those. Thanks for the video links. Those tell it. For me, there is a significant, although not gigantic, difference.
Glad it's not just my ears, or worse, my imagination ;D

In the end, and my indecisive way, I decided on both. I'm hoping it sounds good in any case (still working on this one too).
That pickup looks great! the white with the punched cover is a good look.
Agreed! When I found that Bare Knuckle offered them (for one specific model they make), I wrote them to see if I could get one for something else, and they said yes. I thought having cream/chrome/cream (with the mounting ring) would look fantastic. I figured it wasn't too much cream (i.e. open humbucker) and neither was it too much chrome (covered humbucker).

I looked up that GM color, and this is what I found:

Another great pickup type. Back in the day, the short ones with the 327 were called "Cowboy Corvettes" because the engine had 5 main bearings the same as the Corvette engines. AND they were light and fast. Wouldn't want that sitting on my guitar, though. :D

Word, very cool. Who is this Rextor and do that have a website?
Things are more like they are now, then they ever have been.

Rexter is an OSG member, and super friendly. Does REALLY kickass finishing work. Check it out here.

5 more posts before you can. Here's one you can read, though it's not nearly as complete as his main thread.
