Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
They are in series. I tried a few different caps back when i assembled this guitar, but actually i can’t remember what values i settled on. One is effectively a bass-cut, and the other gives kind of a mid-range boost, which is subtle with a clean tone but really sings when distorted. These, in addition to the main Tone knob, allow quite a variety of sounds.
Cheers!

Thanks, I wondered about that. The bass cut would produce some cool tones used with the normal treble bleed tone control and maybe the switched one as well.

That sounds awesome. How is it wired? I love the idea of using 2 slider switches, with 1 position as an off (no tone shaping). I might actually use something like that for an upcoming project...JVG wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 10:40 amThey are in series. Shadow - off the top of my head i can’t recall exactly how i wired it, but i know it was fairly basic (because i don’t have the best understanding of electronics). I’ll try dig up the diagram, i know i have it sonewhere.
Blimpage - it certainly is a mirrored decal, well spotted
I’ve used them on a few projects because i hate the clunky way that right-handed decals were applied to lefty Fenders back in the day.
Cross - sorry to hijack your thread. I didn’t mean to, honest!
Cheers!

I dig your split pickguards and split headstocks!
Some nice different grain patterns in that headstock, are they all the same wood or is the neck a mix?
