My neck came looking much darker, more like a traditional roasted neck, so I might leave it as is. Was thinking about reshaping the headstock, so I'd be curious to find out if the neck is actually roasted or if it is just a stain.

I've got one of those necks, too, and it's pretty damn nice!

Hey Gilmour, nice Jag!
What tuners/ bushings did you use? I was going to put in kluson style gotohs, but the headstock is drilled out a larger diameter for modern guitar tuners. Did you use conversion bushings?
It's funny but I'm actually sitting here playing that Jag right now. 😂

I used these, I think. I can't seem to find anything else that I've bought, so it has to be. LOL

And it was either these tuners

Or these

I forget. 😂

Fiesta Red Musicmaster. Based on the classic!
Alder body. NOS MM bridge and pickguard. Nitro finish.
Import neck. Gotoh, Kluson style vintage tuners.
Tonerider TRH2B Humbucker.
I made this one pretty quickly. It's amazing how productive you can get when there's nice weather!

Cool result! Didn't know there was a guitar version of the Musicmaster as well, I had only seen the bass :) Is that bridge a vintage part, or do you have a source for them?
Jazzmaster project (got a body, placeholder neck, some pickups and ideas)
Tokai Telecaster Thinline with Creamery Pickups Filtertron and Tapped Tele
Blake Mills-inspired Strat project w/ Gold Foil and slide pickup

I managed to score the original bridge from Ebay years ago.

I guess it's vintage. It's weird for me to say something from the 90s is vintage.

Got most of the painting done on the Scoundrel. I just need to keep spraying more clear gloss on the body.

Love it! What’s the scale length? The Vista came in 24,75 I believe, which has held me back from buying one (though the insane price hikes don’t help either; not paying American Fender prices for one of these…).

Yeah, this one is just 24" scale.
I don't mind 24.75" though. Not much difference to me.

It's pretty amazing how vintage Squiers are now expensive collectables.

Wow!
I absolutely love that Scoundrel!
Your OTM looks very dark blue - but it‘s a great color! Well done!

Thank you.
Yeah, I'm not at all happy with the colour.
It's way darker than I was expecting.

Smart guitar!!!
It's whithin a strato and a telemaster shape, i like a lot.
Your paint is nitro finish otm, what color primer/sealer did you use for this result ? I'm in blue purple this year.I have some troubles with my nitro finishs this spring and summer, i don't know what's happening may be too hot and dry, too cold and wet. A rotten finishs for me... the weather was unstable and unpredictable... in a few time.

I used vinyl sealer, then white primer.
The weather in Melbourne is pretty bad too. I pretty much had half a week of decent weather to finish this.
It's either raining or too cold. It has to be at least 20 degrees for the paint to go on properly.
