That bass is super cool! Looks like a shape that could have been there since the 60s - "period correct" design :)
"500€? That's the price of a J Mascis Jazzmaster!"

In the 1960s, Jazz Basses came with chrome covers that arched over the strings and pickups, as on this Custom Shop reproduction of a 1960 Jazz Bass. They look awesome, but most players took them off with a screwdriver to have better access to the strings, and Fender eventually took the hint and removed them from the design.
Wow, I had no idea. The look of it really reminds me of Rick styled covers.

thankyou all for your kind words.
It's very motivating.
The pickup cover, I believe is an aftermarket style SG or thunderbird cover. It's usually placed over the bridge and I reckon I could shove some foam rubber in there if I wanted a muted sound.

I'll be posting more pics of this bass tomorrow now that it's pretty much finished. The neck is done.
I'm having issues with the bass bridge. I can't get enough height on the saddles but the neck is as deep into the pocket as it can possibly be.

Great looking bass, I don't think I've ever seen a J-bass pickup with a metal pickup cover. That's what's under there right?
The little details on the knobs too; very classy.
Yeah, It's just a Jazz bass pickup. Chrome cover is there for vibes and hand rest.

Absolutely love the bass. It makes me think sx sjm/liquid done right. I'd love to see a guitar version with a jazz/jag trem.

Very cool bass. The headstock shape with logo and decal looks really good. Image

Thanks, everyone!

It's always risky doing a different style of headstock.
I wanted to do a non fender style headstock for a change.

I really like the look of old mosrite, univox, japanese 4x4 style headstocks at the moment.

Functonality-wise I prefer 4 a side but only because I'm used to that.

the D tuning peg is a bit hard to reach, ha

This is fantastic. It makes me think of a more refined Fernandes Vertigo.

I remember when those Vertigos came out, I thought damn! they beat me to it. I had already designed this shape.

That logo badge is awesome! Is it plastic? How did you make it?
