Beautiful instrument, as always!
Is there a black plastic layer under the metal pickguard? Or how did you do that „binding“ look?

It's made from 2.5mm Black plastic with a thin layer of brushed aluminium.
I'm a bit worried that the thin layer will chip off too easily.
If so, I'll probably end up cutting another pickguard, clear with silver painted backing.
Or find out where to get an actual brushed anodized lazer cut metal guard done.
I messed up the string spacing on the pickups anyway so I can correct that if I make another guard.

Put this one together 2-3 years ago,
i know the current guard looks fairly pale in this pic, but it’s actually quite creamy. Need some lighter pickup covers too.

:w00t: :w00t: :? Love it!! There's a part of me that'd debating getting a proper JM or build my own with a different body shape. I do really love classic JMs...

Do both!

Mine is fairly standard (USACG body, Musikraft neck), although I substituted the rhythm circuit for two tone switches with different caps.

Cheers!

I like the idea, but I'm trying to keep my guitar stable to one guitar for each type (JM, Tele, etc.).

How do you like the tone switches instead of the rhythm circuit? What value capacitor/capacitor-resistor combo did you use?

It looks really good. I like the tone switches as well. Been thinking of something similar myself. With two, you have three settings plus none. I'm also curious which two cap values you used. :? Also, are they in series or parallel?
