I finished the SWINGLANDER!

French pine body 30mm thick.
Kmart 20" maple neck. Brass frets. Chluson tuners.
Cinammon pearl pickguard.
Nitro sunburst finish.
Cheapo single coil. (sounds great)

I put way too much work into this build. It's hardly worth anything, ha.
I'm still waiting on some short necks screws.

I put 12's on it to accommodate the short scale.

The neck played like rubbish and it has no truss rod. I leveled and polished the frets and it plays really well now.
It has the right amount of relief that the neck is actually straight.
Perfect for someone with small hands.

I like it. The Maverick look is cool and with that short neck, it looks like it would be fun. The ultimate travel guitar.

Cheers!

I've designed a full-scale version of this. It may pop up here in the future.

In the meantime, here's something else I'm working on!

Maple and Oak neck. Angled headstock. Ivoroid binding.

Looking forward to the full scale version.

That neck is superb with the shading on it. Beautiful!

Very nice indeed! By the way: Is it a lefty?
Pop is the most wonderful music – as long as it's played with three basses, a string section, and two french horns going "Vroop-Vrooo".

Didn' mean to be cheeky. Been fascinated by that half slotted design à la Maton. Not onlY for cool looks but also for tuning ergonomics.

It would totally work as a lefty as well. :)

I've got a Duo-Sonic/Mustang kind of thing designed for a Bass VI. I do want a VI, but I'm tempted to make it into a short scale bass.
One of these days I will finish the project I put aside for 10 years viewtopic.php?t=29663

That burst is spectacular. Great blend of just the right colors.

Most of your pictures aren't showing up anymore, but that's cool as hell. I'll be watching if and when you finish it :)
