HNBGD! Aria 1420B violin bass
Made by Matsumoku.. I would like some more info on this one. It has the scrolled headstock

Cool, I think I prefer that to the hofner ones, the mute is a feature I've never seen before on a bass of this sort, or any sort for that matter.

The piece of metal (or is it just foam?) between the bridge and the bridge pickup does look like a mute.

Yeah, it's a piece of foam on a metal plate that can be flipped up to mute the strings, in case you don't want to palm mute them. Oh, and beware of heavy taxes you might have to pay when you get it delivered at your door. It's a shame they don't warn you per e-mail since I had to pay in cash.
