My heart! What a beauty that is. Would love to dig into those Dynasonics. Such a beautiful shape too. Play it in good health.

Phantastic. Congrats, Maggie! I sincerely regret selling my old Duo Jet.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Ever since I got rid of my Guild Starfire with 'em, I've missed having a guitar with 'em.

Re: Soon-To-Be-NGD
Very cool and congrats, Maggie! What year is your G6128 Duo-Jet? Is it from the 2000 - 2010 period? I seem to recall the block inlays were in them back then. Or possibly from the '90s? Very cool in any case!
I got to play a fellow Gretsch fan's Gretsch G6128T-GH George Harrison SIgnature Duo Jet at a Gretsch Roundup (gathering of Gretsch fans) back in 2016 just outside of Nashville. Fantastic guitar!
I had a Gretsch G6128T-53 Vintage Select ’53 Duo Jet that I really regret having to let go but needed to pay down some debt at the time. I'm definitely going to try and hunt down another some day.
Alongside my now gone Penguin (don't miss it as much - that beastie was a boat anchor!)...

Now, that's a sharp looking guitar. Gretsch's always look their best in full tuxedo black or penguin white/cream & gold livery in my opinion and that one doesn't disappoint!

That is a beautiful guitar. And it's appointed perfectly, great looks, and that Bigsby and pickups to die for. Congratulations!
If I'm not mistaken I recently saw news and a clip from the Tiny Desk Concert series of a similar guitar playing the most beautiful South America meets Western Music songs by Hermanos Gutierrez .... It's quite memorable.
Again, I'm very happy for you.

The Japanese Gretsches are consistently among the nicest playing guitars I ever lay hands on. I'm sure this one will be a knockout. Congrats!
As an aside, are you still enjoying the Bo Diddly? Man, that was a great feeling guitar.

I've only played vintage and modern lower-priced Gretches...are the MIJ that big a step up? I'd love a Penguin but they are wild money

Re: Soon-To-Be-NGD
It's huge. I had a MIJ Sparkle Jet that was the equal of the finest guitars I've ever held, same goes for my Bo Diddley.

Both those guitars, Maggie, are utterly wild. I love them with a large part of my being
