It started out as a stock Billie Joe Armstrong signature LP Jr, but I've swapped out the pickup for a Lindy Fralin hum cancelling P90, and put a single ply celluloid tort guard on it. Oh, and the truss rod cover has been changed to a black one since these pics.

Never seen a custom with that finish before! Looks cool. Especially with the cracks- character.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Billie Joe Armstrong ES-137. I like Green Day and big semi hollows, I don’t like tone controls. If the neck had a bit less shoulder it would be perfect. I’d quite like an Explorer and a LP Jr, but lack both space and money.

My one and only Gibson ever.

Image

I wanted one of these since they came out. I sold it in 2021 to fund a car purchase along with the Bandmaster Reverb. I miss both of them. I made about $1k on the Tweedy, now they are going for even crazier money.

I bought one of these on sale about a year after they were released for about £1100 new. I (stupidly) sold it 9 months later and was super surprised that it sold for £1600.

Little did I know.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

1987 (I think) Les Paul Junior

I also used to have this LP Standard. Really nice top, but I never could get it to sound like I wanted

Currently the only Gibson I have is my Les Paul Special Tribute. Sold the E-135 (left of the Special) earlier this year. Mixed feelings/slight regret on that. I didn't play it much and it was originally purchased to replace the one I sold long ago. I might try to find another when I'm able.

Still, the LP Special Tribute is a keeper and one of the few guitars I haven't modded/upgraded in some fashion. Love it.

My basic 96ish LP Special DC. Bought it from a member here a decade ago. Great guitar, but not being much of a Gibson guy it sadly hangs on my wall most of the time while I play my JMs or Teles. Bigsby is installed via a Vibramate. The Bigsby created some tuning issues I've never really resolved.

Well, I reckon this is exactly the right time to post my 1996 LP Special. '70s Bigsby B5 (with gold plating on the bottom and in the spring hole), Erick Coleman P-90, Avedissian mini humbucker, old Grovers. Got it 'new but preowned' from Clark Music (Atlanta) in late '96, added the Grovers and Bigsby soon after. Been through many, many gigs across the US and Europe, two headstock breaks, and it sounds great and stays in tune.

2012 Les Paul Traditional Mahogany Satin

Had a 2009 Standard LP that I sold long ago to get an AVRI Jaguar, regretted it so much that I bought this LP last year.

Loving the Firebirds in this thread! :-*
another one!

Still can't say I've really bonded with the 335. Ironic though because if I had to go down to just one guitar, it would be that one.

Guess I should put the truss rod covers back on eh?
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.
