Every time I sell gear via Craigslist dudes gotta know:
1. Does it come with a case?
2. How much does it weigh?
3. Does it come with a whammy bar?

Also, when you go to buy the guitar, have enough money with you to buy the guitar. Break your 20 if you need a 10. Don't expect me to have change. Plus, don't try to pay with change. Be a grown-up, have bills.

Oh, and don't forget the guys who absolutely, positively have to know the neck stamp, pot codes etc and get all pissy when you won't take your entire fucking guitar apart just for them.

It's a Squier, dude.

I met a guy to buy my Hallmark. He looked it over and we agreed on a price. He said it would be a few more min because his brother was driving up with the last $10.00. When the brother arrives. He guy pulls 3 dirty wrinkled 20s out of his pocket. He somehow thought I was selling it for $70.00. Should I add learn to read to the list?

i sold a guitar recently and i got one question (by 2 separate buyers) that really annoyed me. Was asked "how much did you buy the guitar for" in relation to a mid 90s mexican strat.

What the heck is the point of that question? are they trying to corner me into saying that i got it for cheaper so i should have lowered my asking price?

I'll say it was a gift or I found it in a dumpster depending on whether I want to move forward with the possibility of selling to the person.

I once had a guy who wanted to by. He seemed nice and motivated. We probably exchanged 6 or 7 emails. In each one I asked when, where and what time he wanted to meet. In the series of emails he couldn't ever name a location. So after the final email of ignoring that one piece of info. I finally agreed to meet him 10 am sharp on Saturday. I wonder if he is still waiting at the location he would never name. I slept in.

*Someone posts a picture of an extremely large/expensive but obviously well-cared-for guitar collection/museum*

UUUURRRR THOSE GUITARS SHOULD BE PUT IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO WOULD PLAY THEM AND MODIFY THEM AND WEAR THEM OUT AND LEAVE THEM PROPPED UP AGAINST A RADIATOR WHERE MY TODDLER WOULD KNOCK THEM OVER AND SNAP THE HEADSTOCK OFF INSTEAD OF BEING PUT ON DISPLAY AND LOOKED AFTER FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO APPRECIATE BLUH BLUH BLUH THEY WERE MASS PRODUCED AND THEREFORE CAN'T POSSIBLY BE MUSEUM PIECES BLUH BLUH BLUH YOU'RE ONLY PAYING FOR NOSTALGIA BLUH BLUH BLUH MY SQUIER IS BETTER ANYWAY.

Why are people selling Staytrems on Reverb for $130-150 before shipping when they are available from the manufacturer for under $100 shipped?
Is that a pet peeve or a gripe?

I hate that shit too.

Some pricing on CL grinds my gears. Like they ask for 95% of what you can buy the item new for. Or you can find the item cheaper, new, with free shipping.

Then you got the bad salesman ad. Price $400. In the listing “Won’t go any lower than $325.” Ok, so you’re hoping I’ll pay more?

Those fucking “make an offer” ads. This isn’t eBay, snorkel dick. Read the posting rules & list a price. Prohibited clicked.

Also, I can’t stand those fucks who will buy an LP (record) in limited edition color, so they can list it on eBay for 10X the amount they paid for. Meh, I’ll take it in black for $16 & the hipster can have the bragging rights.

For some reason people think Squier mini strats are worth $150.00 or more. No other guitar in the world of Pawnshops and Craigslist have the same mark up as those POS guitars, I swear.
I love to send those CL ads a link to Guitar Center and ask if they price match.

Everyone is firm on the price. Then a week later they mark it down 5 bucks.

I offered a guy 60 for some pickups. He wanted 80 and was firm on his price. I said "Thanks for your time." got up and left. He was texting me he'd take 60 by the time I was pulling out of the parking lot. I replied I wouldn't turn around for more than 40. The dude must have realized that in the land of shred guitars and Line 6 amps someone willing to buy some obscure cannibalized pickups was rare and his only chance at a sale was about to get back on the freeway.
That was in August. The pickups are currently unsold on Ebay. I looked at his completed sale and he took a loss compared to what I offered for some other bits he was selling.
I realize I was being a dick and toying with him but, whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Misuse of the word hipster cracks me up. (ie- 'anything I don't like or understand!!' ;) )

I'm probably a hipster and I sneer at both the coloured vinyl AND the black vinyl. OG '60s 45s only for me baby! :D

I had a record by the Smurfs on blue translucent vinyl back in '83, way before it was cool ;)

I don't care about the color, but I only listen to wax or acetate because the tone is superior to my golden ears.

When are my CDs gonna start being collectible?
Remember the big ass boxes they used to come in?

I have pictures for that, with an unique item next to it that I can show in person, so the person knows the pictures are not bamboozled with. I always ask up-front when buying something if I may unscrew a few things to verify stuff. Almost never an issue.
