Thats a beaut! I know some people find sunburst boring, but there is just something so right about it on hollow bodies.

It seems with every passing day, I love my SA 50 more and more. Not quite my number one yet, but a close second.

Oh, and SuperAxe, I haven't forgotten about those photos you asked for, I'm just waiting until it is warm enough for me to take the guitar outside. In upstate Ny its been unseasonably cold.

Thanks, may I ask you two questions about the model?

- The trem arm is loose, I saw on youtube that it is supposed to be steady, originally. Below the foating bridge the arm is lockeed in the collet with a small gap. I suppose that once there was a teflon/plastic circle. Am I right?
- Is my datation right? 1967?

Great! So you are TheSupposedStringMeister! I know the website, of course is the one and first resource I found about SA50 the day I actually decided to buy the guitar at my local shop. You really spread the knowledge, my personal cheers.

So, now the trem arm is kinda steady I fiddeled around the trem unit last night and now it works as It was supposed. No teflon rings, It just needed to be double screwed properly. Another incredible feature on this Super Axe.
I'm gonna keep it, I won't sell it.
Now I just need a proper hardshell case, I'll try to find one that fits.
Those guitars were real gift of craftsmanship.

Thank you for your kind words. I need to update a few things here and there as I have been very slack lately. One of the things I have had in mind is a page showing 'artistically' taken photos of these Superaxes from their users, but those kind of photos are hard to come by.

Try a case that fits a Gibson 335, I think that will work. Just take your SA-50 to a shop and try them. Let me know what you settle for.

OSG has always been a great resource for my JM's and Jags, but foolishly hadn't considered these pages for info about my beloved SA's!
I absolutely want to second the motion and tip my hat to Supposed String Meister! Thanks for the great work and for being the only comprehensive resource I've found.
My lineup is an SA 15, SA 30T, SA 50. Another SA 50 is likely coming on board soon and I eventually intend to add an SA 20 (12) and SA 70 (bass).
I've been mostly lucky with original parts, with the only big exception being the trem-arm for SA-50.
I still need to dig through SA discussions more here, but I'd greatly appreciate any definitive dimensions (6mm?) thread specs, or ANY basic info that might put me on track to find replacement. Please let me know what you guys recommend.

There is a guy on Jauce (japanese website that allows you to buy on the yahoo auction website) and he makes repro arm's for yamaha's.
Not really cheap but supposedly really good. I own a older version without the required notch, I would call it a perfect repro and the new ones should fit perfect too.

Regret selling this thing pretty bad

Probably never find one for a price I’d be comfortable paying again

I'm so used to my trainwreck SA-20, it's really weird seeing one that hasn't been on fire.
