The models aren't particularly exciting (except the neck humbucker tele and the mustang) but it seems like fender is seriously upping the color selection.

It's nice seeing Fender make a serious effort to compete at this price point (assuming the American Special price point) with a variety of American made instruments.

Makes me wonder what the point of the Mexican made "Standard" line is, but that's Fender for you.

Well I think it's great Fender are reissuing the Performer. It makes a nice change from the same-old models rehashed in a few dull finishes with maybe one new colour.

It's nice to see them all in one place. The lack of penny mustang bass makes me sad, but I didn't really need one anyway.

I would absolutely love if they reissued the Performer.

I would hope they would choose a new headstock. I just don't dig the arrowhead. I'm not sure what would really look good with the body but just not the arrowhead.
We are merely moving shadows.

Eh they really aren't doing anything for me. The JM's are essentially just a Jagmaster sans the HB's. Plus I'm not fond of the larger logo's.

Is it just me or does the maple they use for the necks look really bleached out?

Yeah, they're on the Fender site (US, not AU yet, didn't check other countries) as well as other places.

A couple of things made me laugh like "some love for short-scale" (a reference to there being a Mustang but not a Jaguar)

while the new Mustang has its own updated bridge and tremolo system—which offers better stability.
Did anybody else notice this line toward the end?!?

This all but confirms that the dynamic vibrato is a new USA unit and not the MIJ version. This is huge news for Mustang fans - to think that we might finally be able to get the Mustang equivalent of an AVRI trem is super exciting.

Come to think of it, "updated" Mustang bridges could be a big deal for all Offset fans now that Staytrems aren't available in NA. Even if it's the same as the bridge as the TVL JM, if these become available as aftermarket parts it'll be a big deal.

It will indeed be interesting to see which Mustang bridge the Performer Mustang has. The aftermarket LPB Marr's Mustang-style bridge (7712971000) has now been confirmed as ~53mm E-E string spacing (close to Staytrem), although it went out of stock as quickly as it arrived a week or two back ...
https://darrenriley.com/store/fender-am ... 712971000/
(mistakenly labelled as American Pro / Marr bridge by Riley ... AFAIK it's never been on an Am Pro)
And presumably not chrome-plated brass saddles like the TVL's wider (?) Mustang-style bridge (7702080000).

Love the look of the 'penny' Telecaster. Reminds me of a guitar my old boss had that was super nice to play. Obviously the Jazzmaster is trash, but If the other models are similar to the american specials in price and feel, they'll be a winner.
