NGD Agile 3200 MCC Rootbeer

Post by HNB » Wed Jan 30, 2019 5:38 pm

Got this used on Reverb for a really good deal. I have a Rootbeer 3200 already, but it is one of the newer red looking ones and I really wanted a brown rootbeer looking one. I am super impressed by these. This is used, but still in awesome shape. There are little fine scratches on it, but nothing big really. The wood looks nice and the color is great. Nice dark ebony. The inlays are really pretty looking. Can't say anything bad about it really. The stock pickups are ok, but I am going to put in a '59 in the bridge and a bluesbucker in the neck. I can't believe how cheap you can get these for. They are so solid. This must be an older one because of the color and because it doesn't have a volute. I am not worried though since the neck is made of maple and walnut layered. It is plenty strong. One evidence of this is the dumbass who packed it put it in the bock upside down so it shipped on its head the whole week to me and is still fine. (I was pretty pissed when I opened the top and saw the bottom of the guitar.....)

Here are pics. All stock as far as I know. :)

Great looking guitar! I've got an Agile Harm and it's such a good instrument, not even considering the great price. And just like yours, the finish work they do is top notch.

The color is amazing. It is what I was hoping for with my first rootbeer one. Nothing wrong with my reddish one, but this is rootbeer.

I swapped in some new pickups and a new toggle. Now it has a Bluesbucker in the neck and a '59 in the bridge. They sound really good together and much better than the pickups that were in it. It appears that someone had swapped the stock ones with Epiphone Dot humbuckers. They were ok, but I like these better. The toggle in it was a box kind and I replaced it with a Switchcraft toggle. It is all good now and looking and sounding great!
