Oof. I remember when Gretsch put pictures of those up on social media last year and thinking damn, I will never be cool enough to play that.

Infinitely jealous, pocaloc. :?
I thought that for a long time too. You just need some pomade and leather trousers. 8)

Local shop has one of those wall, might be the most visually striking guitar I've ever seen that's not ugly (ie fluorescent pink)

I put some thought into it being to much guitar for me to pull off, but in the end I couldn’t stop looking at it and lusting for it so I said screw it. I sold my two guitars to get it. I absolutely love it, but I’m sort of embarrassed by it being so over the top. I’m a big guy, so it fits me well. Leather pants, I’m sure, would not fit me well. :)

Oh and the sound is amazing with the gigantic hollow body, 2.75 deep. It feedbacks just as I want it to feedback. I was afraid it would go crazy on the feedback.

All the falcons are just... so amazing. I love that they're giant and all sorts of bling. I don't even care if it's gold, but the silver binding = :-*

Yes. I like the gold on the White Falcon, but am not a fan of it on the Black Falcon. It just stands out too much. The silver binding fits better on the black Gretsch, and the blue, and probably red, green, or burgundy mist as well.

Exactly!
The gold accents work on the white falcon, but on black it's starting to flirt with "grandma's going to the casino in style" style.

I had a green country club on approval and I'm shallow enough that I probably would have kept it if the binding was silver rather than gold.

You’d be flirting with “Bono’s going to take a guitar solo” with a Green and Gold Gretsch!

I happened to buy a really early 1964 Gretch 6122 Country Gentleman about 5 years ago. The lady selling it said she had got it brand new from her father the day after watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. He saw that she was so excted watching them, that he came home the next day with the guitar. She was 16yrs old and had already been taking guitar lessons. I asked her why she was selling and she needed the money and it had just been sitting in the attic and she didn't care about it anymore.. The thing about it is the serial number is really early 64101. like you saw the beatles feb 9 '64 and then went and bought one. It wasn't perfect and needs some work and the case smelled abit musty. So Harrisons was a '63 So this one is kind of a keeper for me :w00t:

I picked up an ‘08 125th anniversary Electromatic Projet about a year ago, and I love it. I know purists hate the mini-buckers, but they’ve got their own thing going on, especially through a muff. Just my $.02

It's nothing special, and it doesn't get much play, but it's a nice change-up to the JMs I usually play.

Not the type of Gretsch the OP is talking about, but I have had this TK-300 for quite some time. I just love the big paddle headstock. It needs a bit of work to make it playable (the neck alignment is the most notable problem)... I'll eventually get around to it. I've also recently been toying with buying a 5220, but I probably have too many guitars already.

That’s quite a headstock! You can play guitar and keyboard at the same time with a headstock like that. You can pull it off with a Jazzmaster, but that could hit the black keys too!
