Strat are nice. I use mine alot (CS '56RI) at home. I find the bridge position too thin, but I really like the middle and the neck pickups. The shape is so confortable to me... More confortable then my JM since it's a shorter guitar; i am not a tall guy.

I dont know why, but it just doesnt sit well in my band mix. My JM sound so much better in 95% of our songs. It respond better to my amp and effects. Actually, every guitar I have is better for this band then my Strat. I scratch my head for why it's that way...

The moka 70's Mustang I have seen in real life doesnt look that bad... I probably the same with your Strat. Enjoy it!

I got the bridge for my '57 CV from Callaham. It's really well made and takes an Adrian Belew-like whuppin' from me.
yeah, I wasn't sure how to answer that question regarding price, but Callaham is the best choice- spend what you have to in order to get the best and be done with it.
I was considering just getting a Gotoh vintage-style because I generally dig the company and they're priced quite reasonably. The Callaham ends up being around $250 CAN. :derp:

That's a lot! It's less for us for some reason? I always thought of Callaham as fairly reasonable.

Still: I will predict that the Gotoh is no comparison for the Callaham stuff.

Yeah, you are right, $192 Canadian and shipping, which is probably terrible. That sucks.

Yeah, I factored in shipping and potential duty fees/brokerage charges. No fun. I read that Danocaster uses the Gotoh trems, so I might pick one up eventually. It's going on a Squier Protone series body and is replacing the term that was stock to that, but has changed out saddles to some MIM Fender saddles that have the wrong spacing. I figure I can't go wrong, really.

Callahams are nice, but he's a dick. The Gotohs should be fine, honestly.

I had heard the same. A couple of reputable luthiers I know won’t use his stuff because of the way he has trated them.

You know, I had an issue with a bridge of his, and I think I overreacted more than anything. He stood by his product and did just fine.

I would certainly buy another of his stuff, though. He's the best.

I had a Callaham on my Strat, and have had one on my Tele for over a decade. Fantastic product, for sure.

Fair enough. I don’t know the details of my friends’ complaints.

what is the spacing supposed to be on that guitar? Also, if it's a 6-screw bridge, what is the spacing on the screws?
I'll see what i have stashed.
possibly nothing that will work for you, but worth a shot.

From the little measurements I took of it a little while ago, the bridge appears to be more or less the same as what would be found on a vintage-style Fender (even the original saddles were stamped Fender). I'm in no rush to buy anything, but I'll probably just go with Gotoh. I love their tuners, despite usually having to bore out the holes in the headstocks a touch to make them fit.

Took it in to my local shop, their repair guy wasn’t in so I’m going back in Tuesday to get it looked at. I know the guy who was working today, he thinks all it needs a fret dressing and setup.

He also said it was one of the lightest late 70’s strats he’d felt. Not that that’s saying much.

He put it through its paces while I tried out the 67 Jag they had just got in. ;) He liked the neck, and said to get the electronics sorted. Nothing I didn’t know. He liked Larry’s suggestion for the switch, to use it to bring the neck pickup into play on each position on the 5 way. So that’s definitely happening.

To be continued...
