Jazzmaster neck vs. Thinline Telecaster neck

Hello all!

I just bought a '72 Telecaster thinline RI and am waiting for it to arrive. I had one back in the early 2000s and loved it -- but I can't recall what the neck was like. Before I purchased it, I played some MIM Teles at guitar center and felt like the necks were so much wider than my MIM JM, am I imaging things? Is this what I should expect on my Thinline RI? I didn't mind it at all, I was just surprised how different the necks seemed to me but am wondering if it was just my imagination.

.

Those exact models I'm not familiar with but in general the Tele necks will be chunkier than the Strat necks on JMs.
I'm a fan of Tele necks.

Haven't played many MIM JM's but the ones I have tend to have a fairly modern feeling "C" neck.

I've played quite a few 72RI Thinlines, and for the most part they've felt pretty close to the rather chunky neck on my 52RI Telecaster. Wouldn't say it felt any wider than your typical Fender neck (excluding some crazy narrow Jag necks I've played)

Thanks for the info guys!

The other day I went over to GC and played some teles and on all of them, the next felt like the fret board was so much wider than my JM, which I liked! Is that what it means for a neck to be chunky?

Thanks again!
