The guitar that inspired the project started its life as a 1957 TV Junior, that was later routed for a neck pickup, with the adition of a toggle switch and 4 Dakaware cream knobs. It has been used intensively on stage since the 90's, by two different but closely related artists. I won't say more for now, so you may guess

I didn't go as far as the original, ageing wise. I wanted to capture the visual essence of the guitar, not an exact copy. Obviously, I screwed up the shaping of the pickguard, so I'll have to make a new one .

- Vintage tuners
- Mojoaxe aluminium wraparound bridge
- Vintage inspired pickups 550k pots / Bumblebee on the bridge, K40-Y9 on the neck
- BG P90 vintage
- Nitro finish

I must say I'm really thrilled about this project. It's my first set-neck project, and it went fine, which is already a victory. But moreover, this is the best playing and sounding guitar I ever made. Some of my projects were good, one or two came really great, and some were very disappointing. This one is more than great. This guitar just feels and sounds very similar to my 1956 Junior, with the added versatility of a two pickups arrangement. Part of the credits for this go to Bryan Gunsher (BG pups), who makes my favorite P90, and other parts to Dan at Mojoaxe as his bridge is fantastic and makes the guitar ring really loud acoustically.

No not Lennon's. Not as famous either, though both artists that have used it have been mentioned before on the forums. The one who owns it now also plays a candy Tangerine Jag. The LP is her main guitar I think.

Thanks! I started with a Precision kit Jr body and 59 neck. I made the aditionnal routing, the neck set and the finish. I also darkened the fretboard.

It was a really nice project to work on, and I learned a lot, especially on how to achieve a proper TV yellow finish.

Actually, I'm quite amazed by the performance of the wraparound bridge. Setting up the intonation was easy, and the guitar has all the sustain and resonance I hoped for. But of course a stop tail and ABR-1 would work great also.

I haven't a bad thing to say about the kit I received. Everything fitted perfectly, the woods are top quality and the fret job is simply stunning. Took only 2 or 3 days to arrive in Belgium also.

Saw the thread title and thought it was going to be a copy of one of Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Ages guitars This build looks great and I usually really dislike Gibson-esque guitars.
