;D 8) I always loved that specific burst color, but nothing beats plain grained maple. Just a beautiful wood.
That's true. But one that i've always loved is that cherry burst on those early Musicmasters.

Or the honey/cognac brown burst on those 40s archtop Epiphones. :? :? :?

I'll take both of those, please!

I like the burst on my Waterloo:

Two of the things that attracted me to the Tokai is the little knot in the top, just aft of the pickguard, and the 'burst is a ringer for the mid-70's Les Paul I had in art school (and played during my audition of Soul Asylum, which I obviously bungled). I'm tempted to take the covers off the pickups, so it matches. But I'm not putting a brass nut on it!

That burst is cool, it looks like a sunset/sunrise; kind of mesmerizing. Oh, and brass nuts, why were they all the rage? I remember watching an interview with John Oates, and he was saying he even had a brass backing plate on his strat: weird.

So cool you get to, sort of, revisit your long lost memory. Oddly, i was thinking of putting covers onto two open coiled pickups, is that something you can just pop on, bend the flaps and call it a day? Maybe a solder point here or there? I've never done it, but you make it sound easy enough. :D

Honestly, I don't know how easy or difficult it would be, but hey, they're covers right? How hard can it be? [disaster begins]

Apparently, some double sided tape and two dabs of solder and you're off! (or on)

And even a Maybelline reference to boot.

The search continues!

I’ve always been a L’oreal man myself. Well in the 90s it was Avon, of course. ;)

The one that's coming of from Tokai's Korean plant, but I've heard good things and for $750.00 with the Blue Box, I reckon I can't go too wrong.

Ahhhh, Spot looks comfy on the sofa. Conveniently close to a Princeton Reverb, too.
