That is a great looking 'Paul, Maggie!! Nice looking couch too
How does it feel/play?
Feels pretty good. The neck isn't crazy thin, so it feels solid. It weights just about the same as my JMJag. Pots seem to be good, but they feel like they might be minis. I'll know tomorrow when Mr. Screwdriver comes out.
It's strung with .009s, so it plays kind of weird to me. I'll put .10s on it and see if I don't get more comfortable.
All in all, I'm liking Spot!

I never understood why people with Les Pauls seem to prefer that light of strings. As a kid, I used to play .095" D'addario's, but I can't go lower than .10" now. That sounds great all around!!

I first read that as .95 and got very shocked.
Great guitar, Maggie! Let us know once Mr. Screwdriver pays a visit and you got some thicker strings on it.

Thank you!
I put some tens on it and it plays great, but will obviously need a proper setup in a day or two, I reckon. I've been too busy playing it to get Mr. Screwdriver out yet.
Quick question to Gibson-familiar folks: is the neck pickup supposed to be so much louder and boomier than the bridge PU at full volume?

If there's nothing wrong with the bridge pup, it could be that the neck pup is too close to the strings and/or the bridge pup is too far away. The problem can be made worse if both pups have the same hotness: usually, the bridge humbucker is wound a bit hotter than the neck pup, to compensate.
I would start by messing around with pup heights, to see if that makes a difference.

OK, thanks!

Somehow I managed to get an ash-bodied Love Rock. No wonder why it’s so good at twang and only weighs 8.4lbs. Leave it to me to go to get a Les Paul and come home with a funny shaped Telecaster. Oh, and it's the dreaded minipots.
