Such a great looking guitar. I had no real interest in SGs until I got one recently in a trade and I love it. It doesn’t look as great as yours though. Like Steven, I’m just going to stare at the photos of your SG for a while.

Yeah ... the neck bending thing freaked me out when I had a '64 Special a few years back - it had the same neck profile as yours and the same short type neck join (compared to later SGs). I would find that if I was sitting on the couch and adjusted my seating position even a little bit while playing the guitar would bend out of tune!

Heheh...that is pretty much what happened to me, I was sitting on the sofa strumming it unplugged, moved my arm up a bit and thought "weird, that sounded like a light whammy effect"...did it again and got a kick out of it!

It is definitely the polar opposite of a Les Paul...that's like playing with a grand piano round my neck!

That's really just a scarily hot guitar. I have no GAS for one, I wouldn't even know what I'd do with one, but for some reason I just want to look at it. A lot.

I have been staring it a lot myself as well the past few days!

Sometimes I will stare at a guitar, and think "how in the world was that a tree once??"

That is a great purchase Congratulations to you. The 1963 SG/LP is with out a doubt the best year. The 3 pickup is way cool and I have wanted one of these for a while. That aged white and gold Custom is the best looking too.

SGs are perhaps the most under-rated Gibsons and that is definitely the most beautiful.

It may seem that way, but Gibson consistently sells more SGs than any other model in their lineup. It’s also the only model that has never been discontinued.
There was an article about it on the Gibson site some time last year, but I can’t find it now.
