Monterey Hendrix Stratocaster
I got this used from Guitar Center. The paint job is so nice looking and this, although used, is like new condition wise. This guitar sounds beautiful. It is not humcanceling in position two or four, but it has beautiful sounds. No need to change anything from playing around with it for about a month. Great find and awesome stratocaster.

Nice strap choice as well.
I don’t know much about Strats, but isn’t that true of vintage Stratocasters? I thought I read Strat tone aficionados recommending that for the purest tones from a Strat, but maybe I misunderstood what they were talking about? It is not humcanceling in position two or four, but it has beautiful sounds.

Re: Monterey Hendrix Stratocaster
They didn't even add the five way switching until the late 70s, so there would have been no two or four position before that. My guess is that this would be wired up the way that Hendrix' guitar would have been, except for five way switching.
Nice guitar! I like it.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Yeah iirc the middle being reverse to hum cancel wasn't a thing with starts for awhile. The sounds are beautiful. Best sounding strat I have played so far. I love it. Looks so beautiful too. The art on it is classy. Any time I try to do art on a body like that it never looks good to me.

Oh my!
I generally don't like guitars with drawings in them but this one is an exception. Tbh seeing John Mayer playing one of those when I was a kid definitely drew me to guitars

Hendrix at Monterey was my sacred text for a long time. I will always be 100% in favor of this Strat.

Oh, that's right, now I remember. Hendrix was a pioneer of getting those in-between tones by literally putting the selector switch between the different positions.Larry Mal wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 6:47 pmThey didn't even add the five way switching until the late 70s, so there would have been no two or four position before that. I think Buddy Guy did that, too.fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 6:59 amOh, that's right, now I remember.
