Always wanted it, now I have it.

Plus, it was too cheap and I'm happily drunk. :w00t:

Guitar was manufactured, Pat must buy it.

Pretty simple really.

Oh man...

No but actually, this one has quite a bit of history.
It used to belong to a public school near Cologne, so it is marked/stamped EIGENTUM STADT ERKRATH (property (of) the city Erkrath) on the back.

It has words scratched and scribbled into it and is very worn.
The guy I got it from told me that when the school threw it out, his brother gave it to him. He changed the pots and tuners (and pickups at some point, but he put them back in) and played it in the 90s until he forgot about it.
Now he plays bass and thus sold it.

I'm really liking it a lot, oh and the pups are real humbuckers - some of the cheaper models had the fake lookalikes in them.

Thrilled to take it to rehearsal next week!

Nice find! I love the shape of those old Epi headstocks.

I've always wanted a black one of these. Very cool.

I’m really interested in these. Is it typical Japanese craftsmanship?

Yes I think it's pretty darn fine.
I have two Epi Cobain models and this one does feel way more SOLID in some way I can't explain.

Prob is, I will definitely have to put new tuners on it and fix the loose nut (brass).
The bridge pup is very microphonic and squeals even at quite low volume.

Yep. Non original brass, I think. Sitting on top of a slice of credit card... will have to fix this as it moves and detunes a lot.
