NGD Jackson Monarkh JS22

I got this guitar technically before my Les Paul thinking it would scratch the Les Paul gas itch. My first one that I got had a fretboard blem and the headstock point got squished during shipping. I exchanged it and my new one came in looking much better. Only issue this one had was the screws holding the bridge pickup ring had stripped out and one had even fallen out and was magnetically stuck to the neck pickup. LOL I did the wood glue and toothpick trick on all four of those holes and screwed it down.

This thing is pretty awesome. For like $140 (insanely cheap), it has features I like more then the expensive version. It has a natural maple neck that is mounted in a really cool way for a bolt on. It has a tummy cut and forearm contour which make it nice to play standing up. It has binding that looks pretty good. The headstock scraping wasn't done super clean, but for under $200 hard to complain. The stock ceramic pickups are awesome! It has a compound radius fretboard. Scaraf neck at the headstock for strength. The tuners are really smooth and turn well. Not sloppy. The toggle is smooth and doesn't move clunky like cheaper ones. The pots turn with a little resistance like I like and no crackle. One of the few guitars I don't feel need to be messed with. I just put straplocks on to not drop it. Here are pictures. :) (Mine even has flame on the neck!)

Looks great indeed, man. Neck binding on a guitar for under 200 is def nuts. Congrats!

There's something about the shape that's just really offputting for me. Like someone squished the lower horn in.

But I suppose the big thing is the tone, and if that's doing the job for you, then keep it going. I've been looking at some lower-end Jackson stuff lately. Really want to experiment with a 7 string, and that natural FSR Rhoads also looks really interesting.

Jackson necks have a really nice shape. More thin and flat than a typical C shape in my opinion. I guess it would be called a thin D maybe? It reminds me of Japanese vintage made necks like Univox or Japanese Epiphone ET necks.
