What is going on with the pickguard?
“It’s what our Jimi would have wanted. He
always moaned about the pickguard on his Tele.”

Geez, with that headstock, they aren't even pretending they're not ripping off G&L ASAT Classic.
That Epiphone headstock shape has been around since the 60s. It was used on their Wilshires, Olympics and Coronets. So G&L actually ripped Epiphone off.

Yeah .. point taken, but if I was in an argumentative mood I would say that Gibson/Epiphone copied the Tele headstock shape for the Epi solid bodied gtrs in the 60s, made a couple of changes and created the batwing headstock.

I assumed you were being ironic. Pointing out a headstock infringement when it's attached to a telecaster body and claiming they copied a G&L perfectly encapsulates the absurdity of this whole issue, so I'm going with that's what you meant.

The T-310 also had a Kramer/EVH hockey stick headstock. Gibson bought Kramer at one point, either before or slightly after this guitar.
