Very strange 1970s Bulgarian acoustic guitar

I found this in a 2nd hand shop. They wanted £85 for it, which I seriously considered just for the novelty value of it, but it frets out at 8th, so would probably end up costing me more than it's worth to get it properly playable.

OSG seems to be a fountain of obscure guitar knowledge, so I'm submitting this to the hive-mind to see if anyone knows anything about it. I've managed to translate the text on the body to "Venus", but that's about it.

Anyway, without further ado, here are the pictures:

seen quite a few Kremona electrics on like, fetishguitars etc, and feel like I've seen these before, though i didn't link it to them

Why does it fret out? Everything can be fixed... I'd want to get it for less than that though, on that basis. It's very cool but not exactly, a Martin or something. I'd show them it fretting out and either try to get it for forty if you want it, or get them to do the work and pay full price.

I see these locally in red burst from time to time. They are supposed to have very thick tops. Never played one, however we did have one "regular shaped" Kremona in our rehearsing room and it sounded quite decent for what it was, but the workmanship was super crude - it felt like it was made during woodworking class in elementary school.
