For those that like lots of switches

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

the Nutter Astro Captain

I like the retro design, although I wish it were an offset waist and not just an offset butt, cool finish and vibrato system. All those switch options are a little over the top for me. In phase, out of phase, single coil, humbucker combinations, Treble blend. Yikes!

The Astro Commander has one less pickup and fewer switches, but still, it could have been an offset! (You coulda been a contendah!)

Plenty of switches. Who would have time to actually play with all of those distractions? I mean options.

It actually almost looks a little offset in the little pic, but it isn’t, once you embiggen it.

It needs more cowbell.

The guy that developed it is a Nashville studio musician and claims that with all those options you only need to bring one guitar instead of 3-4 and have all your tone bases covered.

Yeah, after your description, it reminded me of the Recording Les Paul that Jimmy Page had, I think they did an article on it in a magazine.
For flexibility in the studio, I'm all behind the idea.

Those switches would be way too distracting or tempting on stage for me.

Yeah, if were me, I would want a darker fretboard to match the pick guard and since he’s got coil tapped humbuckers, ebony would be my choice to brighten things up. The snakehead headstock looks too stubby. I would dial back the switching options, and it needs an offset waist, of course.

It probably looks like a retro Jetson’s rhinestone cowboy guitar to the Nashville crowd though.

If it’s confined to the studio, with the lights dimmed, after a few drinks, it’s passable.

I’d like to play your version.

Well it's an apt name, whoever designed it is a nutter for sure.
