I was trying to work out what it was and I think it's a Dimarzio SDS1 from the 70s
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

This guitar is trully an epic find !
The back of the neck seems to be particularly gorgeous. I would get rid of those stickers asap and leave it as is.
What's your plan ??
Congratulations btw

Re: *ITS HERE!* 63 Franken-Tele
plan at the moment is just to get it set up nicely and try and get the hang of the benders. I'm leaving the stickers on as part of its history.
I'm pretty sure that necks been varnished as it has that feel to it (and it's dark as hell). Plays nicely though so not that much of an issue
Those might still be coming my way. He wanted stronger money that I was hoping for considering the state they're in but I've planted the seed of an offer and left it with him
Agreed

Re: *ITS HERE!* 63 Franken-Tele
So, planning in my head, I don't think I'll change much:
- The tuners have got to go. Some adaptor bushings and vintage style Klusons are definitely on the list.
- Possibly will scrap the G-Bender and fit some brass compensated saddles.
- Bridge pickup doesn't sound the greatest (I think it's a DiMarzio), so I might get a nice traditional sounding one
- Wiring is utter insanity. I can't even work out what the push/pull pot does, and the switch seems to be an in/out phase switch. I'll probably pull all that and rewire it more traditionally

This is quite possibly one of the coolest guitars I have ever seen on the internet!

the B bender is staying, just the G palm bender I think I'll pull off.
The tort is glorious. I'm struggling to find any 60s Teles that had tort as stock though.

Needs a new backplate, clear plastic or brushed aluminium... and the sticker stays
