Here they are side by side...we'd probably look the same in a photo together :D
You guys should totally do it (and dress in red and sunburst)!

Well, we'll practically be neighbors soon. I don't have any red clothes though. I could dress up like a B.B. King Lucille though

Couldn’t resist this bargain on ebay. 1990 standard. Comes with original bridge pickup & bridge.

Now I have three Les Pauls: 89, 90 & 91

Edit for a better pic. 90 & 91 standards hanging out

Beautiful guitar. I would love a guitar like that (minus the Bigsby - i struggle with those things)

I only have one. I wanted something with humbuckers, but wasn't into Les Pauls.

Marauder:

Challenger (sold this one for a banjo):

Sonex:

And I even had one of those M2s that I fixed up with really nice pickups and sold for reasons I don't remember. I bought it to have an inexpensive but good sounding guitar that I could leave out with the kids. They liked it.

Why do I ever sell a guitar? Now I wish I still had my Challenger, I barely even played the thing and don't know if I liked it or what.

1959 ES-330T

It doesn't have a center block like an ES-335, so it's fully hollow like a Casino. I want to put a Bigsby on it so bad.

Got the full edge set up there, very nice. I do like me an Explorer. You've got the vintage that can buy a used car versus the vintage that can by a used house. I honestly believe that they are an apex of design and that it's a bit of shame that they've been pigeonholed into the more "extreme" genres. I think the edge is one of the few folks who really show their versatility. But, really, they ought to be as versatile as any other double PAF solid body Gibson. There's an alternate universe where I've been playing one for years.
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

Beautiful fiddle there. Where does the neck land on the spectrum of Gibson shapes from back in the day?

I wonder if you ever wish it had another pickup ?

Just picked this up yesterday:

Image

2012 faded, excellent condition, that came up for less than even some Korean epiphones. I’m really enjoying it, super comfy to play on a strap, nice neck shape, and it’s nice to have humbuckers around as well as P90s. The stock 496R/500T set is loud but otherwise not bad. I’d like to swap in a Sunday hand wound HB-FR for the neck, and a much lower output humbucker in the bridge. Also want some witch hat knobs to make it look a bit cooler but I’m not sure where to get Gibson spec ones in the UK.

I have two of these. This one is 59 and I have a 60. Surprisingly this one (59) has a thinner C neck, and the 60 has a much beefier neck like a mid-50's Gibson.

I actually love the pickup and the pickup placement on these and on ES225s (also centered like this). I have an ES-225 with a PAF style humbucker from Wolftone, and that sounds awesome too. I find that on dual pickup Casinos, and ES330s/ES225s, etc - the bridge pickup can be too bitey and metallic, and the neck pickup a little too muddy. The center position has this really nice balance of mids and lows. That said, with a switch in the middle position with dual pickups, Casinos sound beautiful.

I had a chance to play ( read - noodle around on under the watchful eye of the shop owner and 3 shop guys) an actual 57 3 pickup Les Paul Custom and the neck was a "Fender style" medium c at best. Very comfortable and not Gibson re-issue at all. It was light as well. 8 and a half maybe and it had a bigsby too.
