I was at my local music store and they had a Riviera, in Royal Tan, and I picked it up to play it and mother of god, it was a boat anchor!

It easily outweighed my Greco Les Paul. WTF, Epi?

Mine is not. Medium weight I would say. My Noel Gallagher Riviera is heavier.

Can weight inconstancy be a low/medium budget import guitar problem? I had a Squier JMJM that was a boat anchor years ago. I bought a new one 2 months ago and the guitar is way lighter. Night and day difference.

All the Ricky semi-hollows I've played have been pretty light (7lb range). Maybe they're the exception, though.

Yeah, maybe, I had a Rickenbacker 330 for a while and don't recall it being very heavy.

I'm not super concerned about the weight of guitars, really. But I do remember being surprised at how heavy the ES-335s were.

Yeah, my Ric is somewhere in the 7.5lb range, I think. Mine is one of the chunky neck years, so that may add a bit of weight.

There was a 330 at the store and it was pretty chunky, too.

The Thinline Telecaster in LPB with WRH, however, clocks in at about 7.5 lbs. I still want it.
