Tell me something crazy that you *could* do with your gear...
....but you won't, because it would be madness.
I sometimes run gear-related thought experiments in my mind and thought this a fun idea. I'll get started:
1. I could pull two PAFs from my '63 SG/LP Custom, take my '56 Les Paul Custom, route it, drop the PAFs in and have a super rare 50s two-PAF Les Paul Custom.
But I won't do that, because it is silly, and anyway I prefer P90s!
Here's another...I could pull the neck off my '61 Jazzmaster, stick it on an MJT Stratocaster body, drop in my spare set of Don Mare Strat pickups and rock it like SRV.
But I won't, because Jazzmasters always win.
...gimme some more crazy ideas...but the rule is you need to actually own the gear.

Boring answer: patiently liquidate & pay off my mortgage.

1) Sell everything except my Jazzmaster and my Tele (and possibly the Ric) and stop looking for another sound, that'll inevitably be inferior to the former.
2) 'Johnny' the '56 and just take it out to gigs like a fucking boss.
3) John Reis my '56 so it doesn't hurt my back every day.

Re: Tell me something crazy that you *could* do with your gear...
I don't know man, I already run three amps to get stereo guitar/stereo Hammond organ sim with wires and mains adapters and pedals all over the place.
Then it occurred to me yesterday I could take the two pedalboards that do this, route some of the outputs through other gear I have like the GT-8 and probably have five or six amps going depending on where I'm routing from, arranged in a little circle around me. Presumably if I do this it'll be a wall of sound, I'll have no idea how loud it's gotten and police will come. I already have trouble keeping the HRD under control even with tube swaps to drop the gain, because it sound so good I can't tell how loud it really is.
I like wiring everything to everything else, trying to get sounds in any way I can. I think I've been like that since I was a kid and had six speakers running off of a little mini-hifi stereo, to the point where it blew the transformer due to the presumably massive impedance mismatch (three speakers per output, left and right) and it wouldn't power on any more. At least now I can have an AV receiver with six speakers it was actually designed for (5.1 surround). Sonic alchemy and sonic adventures are fun.

Re: Tell me something crazy that you *could* do with your gear...
Sounds like quite the setup!!!
Here's a crazy amp-related plan I could go for....I could buy a 2x12 combo cab from Matchless from my Lightning 1x12 and run at as a 2x12 for the infamous "mismatched speaker swirl"...but I won't...because my back will sue me!
I really should just turn it into a head...I only play through Its nowadays anyway.

Cost of living crisis got me seriously considering this.
Craziest thing I could think of? I’d Jsett my JM66B into a Jazzsquire. Why would that be crazy? I’m a neck pickup guy, when it comes to Jazzmasters.

Re: Tell me something crazy that you *could* do with your gear...
Yeah to be fair with "only" 3 amps it sounds mighty. The guitar can do stereo chorus/other stereo effects, and the organ sim can do stereo rotary and has a volume pedal to be swelled in and out. I figured out an arrangement of How Soon Is Now? that shows this off yesterday... the stereo tremolo pulsing between the speakers works great when the amps are all spread out, whereas the organ doing the sustained rotary stuff is stable against it to emulate the little slide down riff.
If it doesn't kill you, you should try it. Part of keeping guitar exciting isn't just learning new songs but experimenting with the setup of all the elements too. All it takes is a difference in sound or finding a new one to be inspired.

Yeah I mean, everyone's process is different but minimalism (with guitars at least) has been a real boon for me, because I have 2 electrics I know really well (especially the Jag but El Meteora is catching up) as opposed to over a dozen I don't, a place I've been in before, fretting about which ones aren't getting played enough. So in the case of you two, maybe it could make a positive out of a negative if the root cause is selling to raise funds.
I usually pick whichever one behaves the best that day - sometimes neither but that's rare - and use that for hours, see what I can find. Means I can do a 2-3 hour gig with one guitar too, minimising time doing onstage swaps, so it's partly borne of practicality and not wanting to have lots of guitars littering up the stage.

I could get a steam gun to pop the neck off of my faded flying v and graft it onto a jaguar body for my favourite neck on my favourite body shape.

Erm, spend as much time playing as I do coveting & searching for guitars etc…
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?
