Annoying String Story

Post by Naturality » Sun Jan 07, 2007 9:02 am

I wasn't sure where to put this so feel free to move it.
I just bought some new strings for my SG copy, some Ernie Ball Regular Slinky's.
Did all the normal stuff took the old strings of, cleaned the fretboard etc.
I put from low e to B on when i realised that the high is too short. It's early 2cm short.
Has this ever happened to anyone one else? It's truly annoying

how strange!

it's never happened to me, no...sounds like an annoying situation though.

one similar thing that happened to me once...I was changing strings on my JM and I was thinking of this REALLY hot girl I'd met the night before...suddenly, disaster struck!

I cut one of the strings too short!  >:(

I blame it all on the hot chick!

that was my last set of strings too...I had to order new ones the next day and wait for them to arrive!  :-[

Yeah, those Hot Chicks are a huge distraction to the guitar playing community.

I had the same problem with SIT strings, just a tad too short for my Epi Riv 12. It was annoying, i had to go out and get another set to finish stringing the guitar. I found GHS are the best for that guitar.

Along the same lines - Don't try putting Danelectro Six String Bass strings on a Bass VI.

Too short: the winding thins out before it reaches the nut...  >:(

It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.
