Yesterday our rehearsal space complex had an "open door day", that was pretty cool, even though we did our "gig" in another room.

That tele is awesome. Thinline or just thinline style guard?

Thinline layout, but not hollow.
I wanted a deluxe but I don’t like all the controls, and the big pickguards look silly without them. So this is what I put together. Has a tummy cut like a deluxe too.

As someone who always prefers master volume and tone setups, this is amazing!!!

I never use a tone control and prefer the sound of guitars without them, so I didn't have the side jack routed so I could just front mount the jack.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:34 pmAs someone who always prefers master volume and tone setups, this is amazing!!!

Re: Post pics of YOU AND your Non-Offsets! (you+guitar(s)=pic)
I do use them now and then myself, but it's more for a "set and forget" kind of thing, if I'm going for a very specific sound. I could probably ditch all my tone pots for switchable capacitors (like a pot-less version of a JM/Jag rhythm circuit, or a Varitone), and am redesigning all my guitar circuits to have a volume/tone bypass switch (pickups straight to jack), for that sound too. But mostly, I was just commenting (and loving!) how clean that Tele looks without a Gibson-style volume and tone setupgaryptaszek wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:53 amI never use a tone control and prefer the sound of guitars without them, so I didn't have the side jack routed so I could just front mount the jack.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:34 pmAs someone who always prefers master volume and tone setups, this is amazing!!!
I also love the top jack. I dislike side jacks usually.

thanks, I'm a big fan of how this guitar came out. It's become my favourite.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:06 amI do use them now and then myself, but it's more for a "set and forget" kind of thing, if I'm going for a very specific sound. Have you thought about modifying pots to make them 'no load' pots? I didn't realise it was something you could do yourself until I saw this video.

You're all good dude! There's so much information out there, I could've seen something similar years ago, but likely forgot. I feel like Fender sells no-load pots, but I kinda like the idea of the DIY version better! It's a really good idea, since you don't have to add holes for another switch. I like my guitars to look less busy.garyptaszek wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:11 amthanks, I'm a big fan of how this guitar came out. It's become my favourite.

Re: Post pics of YOU AND your Non-Offsets! (you+guitar(s)=pic)
yeah same, I like less controls. My preference seems to be Fender style guitars but with kinda hot rod Jackson/Charvel stripped down electronics and hardware. The Wide Range pickups in that tele are more in line with something like a Duncan JB or Custom Custom in regards to output, Jaime from Creamery started with the Extra Width WRHB set and juiced up the bridge pickup a bit.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:27 amYou're all good dude!
