Do you have a strat style or a tele style guitar?

Post by FireAarro » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:05 am

I thought it'd be interesting to see what us forumers have in terms of Strats/Strat style guitar vs Teles/Tele style guitars. Let's not have any Strat/Tele hating in this thread, okay?

I have a '72 tele and a HH Squier Strat that has been minus a headstock for nearly a year now.

I build myself a thinline tele a while back after a friend donated me a Tele neck. Turned out nice. I use it pretty often, not as much as my Jazzmaster(s) though.
As for strats, I just don't get to like 'em. I seriously tried several, but they do not apeal to me.

I got both.  I use the teles probably 5 times as much as the strats, but I won't sell until I have to.

Is it both?
Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

One of each currently, a '54 $trat replica and a '75 Tele...

:)

Neither, it's based on a '51 Precision Bass (hence the name).

Yeah, I know that, but in the guitar world which does it come under?

Is it a strat due to the body, or tele due to controls and neck?

If it's a Fender; I love it.  Stratocaster, Telecaster, Starcaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Jazz Bass, etc...  love 'em all.

If I had to pick I would say $trat Style. The body adds more to it than the neck does.

A 7okai TST-56, currently in pieces. Some jerk put a Kahler in it, but it's a clean rout.

So I'll plug and refin. Black, most likely.

Also a single hum Japanese Contemporary $trat body that I'll turn into a Burgundy Mist (the original finish!) something someday.
