I dated a Stella back in our old school. She was short, but probably a little bigger then 3/4 size.

We broke up because she was too pricey.

Edited to add:  I hope this helps...

I have had a few old Silvertone and Stellas that had dates stamped inside the body. I can't remember if it was an actual date though, or if I found something at the time that translated it. I am fairly certain that there were dates in there somewhere. You have probably already looked though, so I guessing that it doesn't have any. By your description, I think most of those ones were made sometime in the early to late '60s. It seems like the earlier ones were often natural (not burst) finishes. Does it have the painted on binding and rosette?

Painted binding.  It felt like a 60's junker.  I put $65 on it and washed my hand of the issue!

Yeah, that is a fair price. I have seen a bunch of them sell for around there. I had one with a 6 on a side headstock at one point that had a read sun burst and was in perfect shape. I think I gave about $70 for it at that time (about 7 years ago).  They sound pretty cool when strung with heavy strings and tuned down to about C or C#.

Actually, I just couldn't think of a witty comment to put up against it... so I didn't  :) .
