so this was stupidly cheap, won't be as cheap by the time it ships, but I could. not. resist. that. grain.

Isn’t Sunburst a guarantee it’s NOT a refin?

Re: Stratocaster appreciation thread
have any of you played the Fender JV Modified Strats? I played the sunburst one recently and fell in love with the neck. I want one bad. The white one with the big headstock has the same profile but has the late 60s headstock. I'm not sure which one i'd pick.
JV Mod 60s
JV Mod 50s
My current strat (2014 '56 USA RI neck on an '84 Tokai body) is great but tbh I'm getting sick of necks with a 7.25" radius and vintage frets. The JV modified neck was so nice.

The white one is better looking. That humbucker looks wrong to me... maybe it would look better with a cover?OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 10:47 pmhave any of you played the Fender JV Modified Strats? Thru ZenMarket - they are nice but there are a few ways I’ve been caught by charges I didn’t expect. Still waiting to ship that one actually.

A simple '01 MIM, this is the only photo I have of it on my phone but it's the guitar I'm currently playing the most. Started out as a standard with white plastic and SSS configuration. Recently set up, it now has 9-42s on it which I am not used to but I'm enjoying the change.

My Strat has finally found its purpose as my go-to guitar for solo sets. I just park the switch in the neck position and it leaves the perfect spot for my voice to sit.

Re: Stratocaster appreciation thread
Did you work on his guitars? Don't know why but lately I was wondering if Corgan used a TBX tone circuit in some of his strats. No idea why that question popped into my skull.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 11:50 amYahulakatt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 5:47 amWho? Corgan?OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 10:16 am

Re: Stratocaster appreciation thread
No tbx. Just standard 250k pots. When I was there (from what I can remember) he had two of his signature Strats (one black and one white), his main blue ‘74? hardtail, some weird beat to shit black Strat that I think was actually an ‘83 Squier (backup to the blue one) and a parts Strat that his local luthier slapped together for him (an old 80s Dimarzio body with a rising sun graphic and a neck from a BC signature Strat). They all had his Dimarzio signature pickups and 5-way ‘super’ switches to split the coils in positions 2 & 4.
