I hear ya! It’s my favourite look as well. Classy, timeless, but also has all the beauty of well-used hammer.

Mine has a fair amount of wear. All natural, of course, but it has a very thin finish so admittedly it wears rather easily. :)

Haven't posted in awhile... But Teles are my favourite. I've had my Blonde Tele for almost 15 years and it's my number one, but I also put together a couple of parts Teles that I also love. Here they are:

Glad you’re still around even if only once in a while Mr O.

That is a fantastic collection right there. Is the Danelectro/esquire mutt a baritone?

I have an amazing 80s MIJ Tele which had a truly horrible yellow clear poly on its ash body, I would kill to be able to put a finish like that on it.

Hot damn that Tex amp. I dig the Danosquire too. I mean they’re all great.

The Tex amp belongs to a friend. He let me borrow it while I fixed up/overhauled his Strat. It's easily one of the best, most musical sounding amps I have ever played. Like a Tweed-ish Vox amp, if that makes any sense at all. Really beautiful.

The Danelectro Tele hybrid is a regular scale guitar, 25" scale, so slightly shorter than a Fender but longer than a Gibson. I bought the neck from Shyboy and Tex guitar repair in Toronto for $50 and then bought the ultra-lightweight pine body from a local prominent session bassist also for $50. The pickup is a Lollar '52 T and it rips. An incredible guitar.

The walnut blackguard Tele currently has Pickup Wizard 52 pickups in it, but I have a set of Lollar Vintage T pickups on the way. Hoping to make that guitar a bit more ferocious as the Pup Wiz pickups are a little too polite...

Very nice, sounds like a score of a project. Not sure why it seemed long scale to my eye in that picture.

Shy boy and Tex is/was one of the chaps from Capsule I think ? I’ve played the odd Shyboy telecaster and always found them awesome.

i put monel strings and uncompensated saddles on my tele before xmas. not been able to play it much since but had a quick go yesterday. it sounds pretty good, the pickup heights are totally backwards to my usual with regular strings and the plain strings are a little too loud but it does not sound bad at all.

How do you like the monel strings?

I use them on a couple of guitars - really like the sound (although their output is noticeably lower than nickel) but find they go dead rather quickly. I don’t understand why, since monel is supposedly more resistant to corrosion than normal nickel or nickel plated.

i need more time with them (also my ears are congested at the moment so everything sounds wrong) but they're certainly not terrible and definitely different to normal nickel/steel whatever strings

I got lucky with some lighting on my MJT tele so decided to take a couple of pictures. Pine body, all rosewood WD neck, bootstrap pickups (Palo Duro bridge, pretzel neck), 4-way switch.

Put this together this week. Cobra blue (darker than the photo shows) with 3 pickups, using 5-way and series/parallel switching. 1 of 2 Teles I've been working on.

Yep, that was the basic starting point! I already had one, so for this, I wired things a bit differently for variety.

I know there are other pictures of my Tele on the same page, but I decided to Esquire mine and change the pickup to a Bootstrap Pickups Pretzel, which is their version of a Broadcaster pickup. Sounds killer, and the guitar looks great. Volume and Tone knobs are super responsive. Here are some nice beauty shots:
