Damned cool! My '89 Custom is about 200 numbers after yours. I've had that guitar since it was new, and it never disappoints. They definitely made them more magically somehow back then.
I'm actually dropping by the PRS factory in a couple weeks - I'll see if a buddy of mine can shed some light on that finish.
who wants to see my new guitar? (you wont like it)

That thing is funky - congrats!
I owned a CE22 with a maple top for a while and while it was a great guitar, it just wasn't for me. I think it was a '97. Sometimes I kind of wish I had kept it, but I don't lose any sleep over it or anything.

Hey, thanks guys:) Man, cmatthes, thatd be awesome if you could figure out the story on it. I got it today, and lemme tell you, the pictures dont do it justice. Much cooler looking in person!!
It sounds great too, but it'll need a setup before I give the final verdict.

hehehe, thanks for your honesty:) I suspect there were a few people that thought that as well.
Unfortunately, it turned out some of the electronics were unoriginal, and the tone knob had been drilled out, so its headed back:(
