The Ampeg really does look terrific.  If I were a bass player I 'd rather quickly pull out the credit card for one of those.

Woohoo, a decent Ampeg copy. I really like the new Airlines too.

Man, I got all excited when you said Ampeg that it'd be one of the Ampeg/Dan Armstrong Plexi guitars that they copied... :(  I'd buy one of those in a minute if Eastwood made it affordable! 8)

I can't remember who it was but someone made some Dan Armstrongs last year. I think it was for around $1600 though

That would be Ampeg:

It's $1,399US at Elderly:

A bunch of cheepo lucite guitars.

For $120US, I might pull the trigger on an acrylic Les Paul.

Aria makes a lucite offset that is sadly not available in the US.

You know, of those options I think I'd have to go with the clear Strat and cover the pickguard in woodgrain shelf paper for that super-70's look. 8)

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I actually tried one of the Dan Armstrong reissues today.  I wasn't really impressed, but it may have been the amp I was playing it through.  It was really dark sounding, not very well defined, the 3-way switch didn't seem to do much [edit - oops! that's because I didn't understand how it operates], and the neck profile was a little chunky for my liking (though I did warm up to it after a while).  This was with the humbucking pickup module in it.  It was heavy, but not ridiculously - average Les Paul territory.  I'd love to go back and try it out on some different amps and fool around with the other pickup.  It'd still be cool if Eastwood made one...

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
