I have one of these guitars too. Mine is a 1960 and was in a bit worse shape. The bridge was pretty much unusable. I was able to use a Rickebacker 6 saddle adjustable bridge and the string spacing was very close.

I've never uploaded anything to YouTube before, but I figured it was as good a place as any to store the sound clips.
I hope these are helpful, please excuse my sloppy playing, especially in the last couple songs.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Nothing wrong with that clip (except there's no distorted blooze riffing ), that's a very cool sounding guitar and I love the demo.
Re the hardware choices, I voted Bigsby, and adding the space control is a cool idea- visually also, those posts really work with the design of the Bigsby and help to tie it to the guitar IMO. Really nice guitar.

Yeah, that bridge looks gorgeous!! Glad to hear it's made it an even better playing & sounding guitar too.
Also, I totally eat my words after staring at the picture on your YouTube clip (great playing & song choice too, BTW). The Bigsby wins, especially after hearing it in action.
When I had my ES-125T I'd press onto the tailpiece to achieve a kind of vibrato but always felt like I was going to break the body. The B7 looks solid & like it was always supposed to be there.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

You could use a Compton Bridge too, he'll do custom string spacing. I have one on my Silvertone 1446.Con-Tiki! wrote:Good stuff.
I've wondered about those bridges. All my crappy Sears guitars have non-normal string spacing, this is the answer.
Todd, that guitar is perfect.
This guitar looks absolutely kick ass.

I have been wanting to chime in to this thread for days, but have been too busy to properly absorb it.
So, late to the party but the guitar in its latest state is perfect!!
I mean c'mon...it is vintage, it is black and it looks all around awesome! Ticks all the boxes in my book!!

Todd, this guitar came out exactly as I expected. Excellent job! Sounds beautiful and your playing is fantastic.
Makes me want to put a Bigsby on my old Silvertone Silhouette. If you happen to see any fair-priced Bigsbys out there...

That demo sounds beautiful. That's exactly how my Jupiter sounds, only I don;t play it that well.

Wow, thanks guys, I'm really flattered by your comments!!!
I felt so uncoordinated last night and it seemed like I couldn't play anything well. Listening back I guess it wasn't so bad, I'm always my worst critic, I suppose. That Space-Control bridge is the ticket for this guitar. Aesthetically it looks like a natural fit, and it improved the guitar in several ways, as was mentioned before. I think a softer spring would be nice, but not.....pressing (ahem). In any case it's really fun to have a Jupiter again, especially hot rodded like this.
