Pedal Building Time with ThePastRecedes
Jaguar018 asked me to build him this pedal months ago… and it's just getting started… I've been busy at school (double majoring in Math and Comp. Eng.) so I'm sure you students know what it's like!
Okay, chris wanted a 2 in 1 pedal. A Harmonic Percolator and a Systech OD. I don't have many pics of the HP build but here it is with all it's mojo. It just needs a resistor and the Ge tranny.
So the Systech OD half… I hate perfboard, overboard… all of them… So I decided to just make the PCB. It's more time for me but it'll give a much better looking build. Here's the schematic drawn in Eagle:
I worked out a PCB layout. If you want the CAD files just PM your email. I have to boards left too if you don't want to make them yourself.
Printed at OSH Park:
Filed the edges nice and smooth:
Partially populated:
And the enclosure it will go in:
More to come...

Drilling template attached
Drilled
Mockups double checking for clearance. Nothing is perfectly straight since I didn't tighten the parts down.
And here is one for anyone else who is waiting for me to finish their projects:

Nearly there, just needs the germanium soldered in for the percolator. I'm also thinking I should invest in some of that pre-tinned wire that Timbo uses.
The Systech Overdrive sounds fantastic! I'm building it off schematics I've found online so I'm going to compare it to some online demos and see if it needs any tweaks. But hey, I think I'm gonna build myself one exactly like this

Finally done!
I was sent a knob less than I should have so it's got my tele knob on there until it arrives.

That looks awesome!
I'm in the process of building a green ringer and am thinking of housing it with either a harmonic perc or a fuzz face.
Are yours wired independant of each other?

Yes, they're wired independently. I personally would find it more useful like this ,than having a "order" switch, since you would be able to place other pedals between the two.ploppy wrote:That looks awesome!

Awesome!!
Looking forward to your next build.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Cool,
Are they both wired to one power suppl?

Does it say "It's impossible to be unhappy in a poncho" in the middle of the PCB?
We got people playing stringed instruments! It's the end of days.
