Sage Green and Tort

Post by hhhehehe » Tue Jun 24, 2014 8:54 am

Why is this such a rare combo? They're like made for each other!

:? :? :?

Why is there no Sage Green option in the dressing room anyway?

I swear, if I had any electronics skills I would build a bunch of different pedals, paint 'em sage green and slap a piece of tort on there á la this:

I reckon people wouldn't mind shelling out for something like that. ;D

You might be on to something there! A guitar modeller comes to mind... Makes for a great-looking and unique pedal, that's for sure.

Indeed, I really dig the tort (or red pearloid like in the above picture) on a pedal look. I'll have some left over tort once I finish up my current build, might buy a cheap pedal off Ebay and put some tort on it for kicks, heh. Maybe a dis-tort-ion pedal ;D or not. Still no sage green though…

Like an amp modeller, or a multieffects pedal or what? If the latter, I agree, since there are literally no multieffects pedals that aren't butt ugly. :D

Sage Green is modelled after a yellowed (or greened, as yellow and blue equals green) Ice Blue Metallic.

Realised you could do it that way in the dressing room shortly after posting… Didn't know that was the source of it, though. I kinda feel like sage green is more subtle than IBM, like greened inca silver.

The bass in the op is sage green while the XII is yellowed IBM. It's subtle but I always saw them as two different colours.

Its a completely different colour, of course. One is a victim of environments and the elements and can vary depending on exposure, the other is a colour mixed at a factory.

Well, my BOSS multi-effect has a function to make a single-coil sound like a HB, and vice-versa, or either to acoustic. Take the EHX B9 organ and various amp-in-a-pedal modellers as examples and turn out a "Jaguar-in-a-box" sound for example. One could envision a "Les Paul" pedal, a "Tele" pedal, a "resonator" pedal using respective aesthetics.

Hey yeah, that actually sounds like a really cool idea. I'd consider buying a SG-with-p-90's sim pedal, if it came in Pelham blue with pearloid 8)

Also, how did you know I had a crush on the EHX B9? :o

Right, the XII is simply gorgeous.

I want one of those pedals. If it does what it looks like it does.

I'm afraid it doesn't do what it looks like it does. :jacked:

Torty Pedals

Post by hhhehehe » Wed Jul 23, 2014 7:01 am

Mildly relevant: today a music store is holding a "design your own BOSS pedal" contest, and I took the opportunity to make a tort stompbox. I give you: The Fendertone!

Alas it's not sage green, but you can't have it all. 8)

I'm thinking of putting a tort guard on my shell pink JM. It's strange but everyone recommends white, which is to right of field for me

Don't ask me, man. If I had a shell pink JM I'd refin it immediately! :D
