HAGSTROM Futurama Coronado automatic (Jazzmaster)restoration
Hi,
This is my first visit here at the OSG-site, and also my first restoration.
My project is, as the topic suggests, restoration of a Hagstrom Futurama Coronado automatic without any original parts and in pretty rough condition. (The neck and head is completely off).
My idea is to take parts from an impala / corvette that I already possess. There will thus be a Hagstrom Futurama Coronado Automatic Impala-ish in baby blue. (If anyone has the color code on a Hagstrom baby-blue so please let me know.)
Right now I am putting together the neck but I'm having trouble getting it durable (therefore invites proposals also alleges that).
I appreciate all the advice I can get. Please do not hesitate to provide me with whatever knowledge you can contribute with.
Best regards,
Thomas

Now, the process to put together the head with the neck has begun. Tomorrow I'll glue it all together. After that I will start to grind away the paint.
Does anybody have some advice to share so far, or perhaps know of any suitable pickups?

Mini humbuckers should be great for this guitar - http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/e ... ntage_min/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Maybe this small site is of help: http://www.hagstrom.org.uk/visstory/vis ... impala.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Do you know what these numbered switches were for on the guitar?

Re: Hagstrom Futurama Coronado automatic restoration
Thanks for the tips Higsblossom! I will check out the mini humbuckers!
I'm not really sure what the numbered switch do, just effects I think.
Today I glued the neck to the head together, hopefully it's strong enough! But I think so.
I also got some cool all original Hagstrom parts in the mail today.
I got a tremar, numbered effect switch, volume controls, and a Hagstrom neck sticker.
Next step is to remove all the polish and fill all the old screw holes, anyone know what's best to fill the holes with?
If someone has information about the color code of Hagstrom baby blue color? Or a high res picture of a baby blue hagstrom?
Thanks.

I must've missed something. What is that metal component with the black tipped lever, directly under the switch unit?

It may be just a pot mounted on it's side. Like the upper rollers on a Jaguar/Jazzmaster only with a lever and less travel presumably.....
Hell, I dunno...

Had to google this odd guitar and found this pic. Was the neck scalloped from factory?!

Neck is done! finally, only thing left to do is to fill some holes.
Next is to fill screw holes an remove old polish.
