I like the Dual Circuits on my AV65 Jag & JM. This looks like a variation of the Telemaster with a Trem. Not really a Jazzmaster though. They'll probably do a similar Jag But with different Pickups & call it a Jag.

If there are some amazing color choices it could be interesting but doubt that will happen..

As far as being a Jazzmaster though, IMO, it's half the Guitar at half the price.

Ah I dont know about that... the tele pick up configuration combined with the jazz body is what makes a telelmaster a telemaster. This is a jazzmaster body, with jazzmaster pickups, with a vintage correct jazzmaster tremolo, with a jazzmaster neck. Saying this is half the guitar is far fetched.

Yea, seriously Larsongs, what are you talking about? Not a jazzmaster? Unless the pickups are humbuckers or something, this is literally a jazzmaster without the rhythm circuit. Correct bridge, scale length, vintage style trem and position, JM-style wide/flat single coils with magnetic pole pieces (assuming..), body shape. The only non-standard things are the lack of rhythm circuit and the position of the toggle switch. :fp: This hardly makes it a telecaster. it's exactly what it's supposed to be- a somewhat modernized jazzmaster.

22 frets too. The maple neck gives me the perfect excuse to have to buy one ;D

22 frets means it has 4.8% more toanz. Therefore, telecaster. :D

I know an extra fret is not a big deal, but I think it's the first time Fender makes a jazzy with 22 frets ever. At first I wondered about the scale, but surely that extra fret is on a lip that crosses the neck's heel, as it was in the AM Std series. In any case, lookis like a winner to me.

i can't see how this is 'professional' (as compared to 'standard'). probably just semantics... but imho, the rhythm toggle switch and threaded trem arm seem like workarounds for stuff that doesn't need fixing in the first place. get the trem system up to par with vintage specs: done. if you want to improve on the rhythm circuit, adress the circuit: change a cap value, change the wiring (series/parallel/whatever), but don't put a freakin' TOGGLE SWITCH at where it will only get in the way. if this is indeed the new model, i can promise that there will be threads about how to fit a standard slider switch to the rhythm circuit and how to add a trem arm with nice smooth action (that doesn't wear out in a few weeks of playing... strat-style). i swear. :D
Nobody exists on purpose.

I have to say, this is a guitar I will be trying out extensively in my local shop. It could be great- *could*. But only a tryout will tell me if this exceeds what I can and have put together in terms of partscasters and such.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

My point was that it is conceptually in the vein of the Telemaster. A Franken-version Guitar. Not the exact same Guitar. ??????? Geeeezzzz!

IMO it's a dumbed down version of a real Jazzmaster. If you dig it that's cool. To me it's half a Jazzmaster for half the price. Not a super deal. Make them in Metalflake Gold, Silver, Purple or Orange or something like that & it at least makes them novel.

I'm not seeing anything on a Fenders Website about this Series? Is this for real or is it just hype at this point?

What we all know of as "American Standard" Fenders will be replaced with an all new and updated line, now called the "American Pro". This will extend to all models of Fender guitars... Teles, Strats, basses, and now the new Jazzmasters and Jaguars. Fit, finish and overall quality is to be among the best Fender has ever offered at this price range.
