Yeah - I might be having one of those... In grey... With rosewood.
Well see how the Olive looks - that might be a good look.
Anyway - As mentioned - Custom Shop Specs on the neck. 4 way switch with phase. And a treble bleed.

The Jaguar above is in Sonic Grey... A bit more blue-ish in person than these stock Fender pics convey. I thought Antique Olive was a badass color in person.Singlebladepickup wrote:Is that supposed to be olive in the picture above? Looks nice to me

Neither of those two models are featured in the American Professional line, which is basically a revamp of the American Standard Series.Birdman14 wrote:B, do you know of any plans for new basses? In particular, the Bass VI and Jaguar bass.B wrote:

I like these (not that I should need another jazzmaster or jaguar). I prefer the 6105 frets that Fender has on some of its guitars and I assume that the frets on these are similar.

The switches look lonely.mekhem wrote:

They still look cheap to me & the colors are uninspiring. The Jag in particular.
These designs limit the amazing palette of sounds these Guitars were designed to create? I'm not getting their thinking behind trying to accomplish that? Other than decontenting reduces production cost.
It will be interesting to see what happens. Seems like the Lacquer 60's would be excellent alternatives.

Re: 2017 AMERICAN PROFESSIONAL JAZZMASTER/JAGUAR
The Jag looks cool to me. A lot of people don't really use the rhythm circuit at all(I do, but the amount of rhythm circuit mods and people who simply rip them out kind of speaks for how popular they are) so putting the phase switch up there seems like a nice compromise between a more minimalist design and the classic design.
The Jazzmaster looks pretty naked and while I think it looks more aesthetically pleasing to put the switch up there, it doesn't look very functional.
Awesome colors though

smart of them to make the phase switching horizontally instead of vertical to prevent unintended switching while playing.

if preventing unwanted switching was on their list of things to consider why would they put the jazzmaster toggle in the most vulnerable place? seems like a positive detail for the jag that was unintended IMOgunlak wrote:smart of them to make the phase switching horizontally instead of vertical to prevent unintended switching while playing.

Well I like the switching and everything, but wouldnt describe it as "amazing palette"... I mean, how many of these you see with duct tape on the upper plate?Larsongs wrote:These designs limit the amazing palette of sounds these Guitars were designed to create?
I like the new switching, and the jag still has a lot going on with the parallel/series and the phase inversion.
Jaguar > Jazzmaster :)

I think the guitar you are describing is already available, so it is worth considering that this design is meant to appeal to people that do not want the switching or believe it gives the guitar an "amazing palette of sounds".Larsongs wrote:They still look cheap to me & the colors are uninspiring. If the bodies have vintage-spec routing, they'll be terrific mod platforms. You'll be able to wire it any way you like. It's a safe bet that Fender thought of that. :-)

Here's the American Pro Precision Bass. I can't find the Jazz Bass photo offhand, but the one I saw was in the same color, antique olive. It looked like... a Jazz Bass.Birdman14 wrote:Do you have them saved?! I'd love to see what they're doing.

I'm pretty new 'round these parts, so I don't know everyone's background, but where are the pics and information coming from?
Also, how do the diehard Jazzmaster fans (like myself) feel about the removal of the rhythm circuit?
